62 strokes! Seven birds and one eagle! The first round of the Woods BMW Championship set a 19 year good start
On September 7th, Beijing time, the first round of the US Tour playoffs BMW Championship was contested, and Tiger Woods performed exceptionally well, hitting a 62 (-8) with 7 birds, 1 eagle, and 1 bogey, tying with McRoy for the lead.
Woods, who set off from the same group as Fowler and Spice on the 10th hole, switched back to the Scotty Cameron putt that brought him 13 Grand Slam championships. He also seemed to have regained his old glory - he successfully caught a bird when he went out, and successfully pushed a birdie 20 feet away.
After the 15 foot birdie was pushed short in hole 11, Woods poured a 13 foot birdie in hole 12.
On hole 13, Woods almost hit the ball directly into the hole with a dig from 145 away, and he caught the third bird from the first four holes.
Hole 16, Par 5, Woods became more and more brave as he fought. In the second shot, he directly hit the ball 5 feet to the right of the flagpole from 242 yards away, and the tiger successfully shot the eagle!
On the 18th hole, Woods caught the bird again and hit a stunning 29 (-6) in the first 9 holes. The green rate on the standard pole is 100%, and the distance of the putts left behind by the 7 holes hitting the green is less than 20 feet.
This is the first time Woods has hit 9 holes below 30 since the 2007 Tour Championship, and also the sixth time in his career that he has hit 9 holes below 30.
After the transition, Woods once again achieved a stable performance with a short flagpole edge push on hole 1, with a score of -7!
Next, Woods played five consecutive pars, and in hole 7, Woods put the ball directly into the hole with his dig. Dead bird! The score has reached -8!
Although he swallowed the first and only bogey of the round on par 3 in hole 8, he hit the ball to the left and did not save the ball near the flagpole in the next shot. However, Woods seized the opportunity of a Par 5 hole on the 9th hole of the closing hole, birded again, and opened the game with a 62.
The first round score of 62 strokes was Woods' best start on the US Tour since 1999.
